Dealer's drug cash confiscated - Peterlee Today: "Ashley Abbott, 31, is serving two years in prison after being caught dealing crack cocaine on the streets of Hartlepool.
Now almost £1,000 he pocketed from selling the Class A drug is to be seized after a judge ordered it to be confiscated.
A total of £995.65 will be taken by authorities following a successful application by prosecutors under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Abbott, who served in Iraq, Kosovo and Bosnia with the Army, was locked up in June.
Police had caught him red-handed selling crack cocaine in Lancaster Road, Hartlepool, shortly after leaving his flat.
They watched him conduct a £20 deal with a woman at around midday on December 11 last year."
